Scottish Terrier and Puppy Danish Blue Porcelain Plate

 

A Scottish Terrier named Sadie has beaten over 2,500 dogs to the coveted "Best in Show" award at the 2010 Westminster Dog Show. The Scottish Terrier, also known as Ch Roundtown Mercedes of Maryscot from Eagle, Idaho, became the 8th Scottie to win Westminster. This was her 112th Best in Show award.  The Scottish Terrier was developed in Scotland in the 1700s.  Scotties were used to hunt den animals, such as rabbit, otter, fox, and badger. The Scottish Terrier was recognized by the AKC in 1885.

Danish Blue Porcelain Collector's 8" Dog Plates for the discriminating collector.

Scan-Lekven Designs from Denmark produces these Danish Blue underglazed fine porcelain plates using traditional porcelain and glass techniques. Award winning internationally known artists have drawn over 170 dog breeds in a unique, breed appropriate setting. The Danish Blue dog plates are then fired at between 560°-1250°C to achieve their exquisite quality. Both the artist's name and the breed's name can be found on the back of each plate and they are pre-drilled for easy hanging. These plates are approximately 8" in diameter and are dishwasher and microwave safe.
